In our nurturing primary school environment, tamariki feel a deep sense of belonging and are equipped with the skills and strategies to embrace risk and growth in their learning. Our Year 1-6 primary teams build strong foundations of learning that empower tamariki to extend and challenge their potential. Through well planned diverse experiences, learners gain confidence and success, serving as the cornerstone to become lifelong learners.
The Junior College students at Horizon use learning in meaningful ways and make connections of the relevance of learning to life. They develop critical and creative thinking skills within subjects and are given the opportunity to experience an array of real life skills through enriched options. Formation of the person is a crucial aspect to our curriculum, weaving the Christian faith through learning and prioritising holistic development.
Learning in senior college is relevant, authentic and engaging. Learners participate in the special character and learn connected and enriched courses using the vehicle of NCEA. We aim for learners to see connections between learning and real life contexts and aim to prepare them well for their future pathways of University, business, trades and the workforce by providing a bespoke curriculum for our rangatahi (young people).
